Jane leads Binder Law Offices with over 30 years of experience as a successful trial lawyer, skilled negotiator and qualified mediator. She has been designated as a Super Lawyer each year since 1996.
Jane is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, and has a BA in Political Philosophy from Michigan State University. She is a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), a national organization of a highly select group of family law attorneys, and is a past president of the Minnesota chapter.
For the past several years she has been included in Best Lawyers in America® in the field of Family Law and Binder Law Offices has been selected as a “Best Law Firm – Family Law” by U.S. News Best Lawyers®. Jane has also been named one of Minnesota Monthly’s Best Lawyers. In 2012, Jane was awarded the Professionalism and Civility Award from the Hennepin County Bar Association, Family Law Section.
Jane is also a qualified neutral under Rule 114. She not only mediates family law disputes, but she also moderates Settlement Conferences in Twin Cities’ courts, helping parties settle cases so they can avoid expensive and adversarial trials. In addition, Jane serves as a Financial Early Neutral Evaluator in Hennepin County, where she evaluates the financial issues in a divorce and provides opinions on how issues can be resolved, often resulting in swift resolution of difficult family law cases.
